    Decentralized identity flips the architecture: instead of a citizen's identity living inside one government system that every service has to query, the citizen holds a portable, cryptographically verifiable identifier that any authorized service can check independently, without routing through — or depending on the uptime of — a single central registry.

    Why this matters for secured transactions, not just logins

    The same decentralized identifier that lets someone log into a government portal can anchor a property transfer, a trade document, or a professional credential — one identity primitive, reused across every trust rail it touches, instead of a different fragile login system per agency.

    KC's TrustKC architecture uses this model directly: identities anchored as did:ethr:polygon decentralized identifiers, secured with ERC-4337 account abstraction, on a rail built to interoperate rather than lock a citizen's identity inside any single agency's database. KC's domestic electronic systems registration is the prerequisite already in place for connecting this kind of identity layer to Indonesia's population data systems.
